Hello Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and Commissioners,
I'm writing today to ask you to include the following in your priorities for the next two years.
Please add a chapter to our Growth Policy/Community Plan that will identify fundamental
resources and values that we can uphold and preserve as we grow. This chapter could becalled Heritage Conservation. The Landmark consultants had these two suggestions:
1). Integrate preservation with broader planning issues – housing, resilience, land
conservation, cultural heritage, and economic development.
2). Consider integrating historic preservation into broader planning efforts such as theBozeman CommunityPlan (Growth Policy), as is done with other community planning
efforts.
We need to place a high priority on preserving our existing neighborhoods.
