Hello City Commission,
I'm writing today to express my agreement with the guest column titled, "City Commission’s
multi-million $$$ Xmas gift to out-of-town developers."
We shouldn't be giving this height away for free. We should require affordable housing orcash-in-lieu of affordable housing in order to go above 70 feet.
I hope you noticed that all those asking for this additional height amendment were individuals
in the development community or individuals representing development companies. Denyingthis amendment does not mean it can never happen, just not now. Maybe somewhere down
the road!
Pause this before the February 1 effective date or irreparable harm will be done. Developerswill submit amended site plan applications, which will be approved administratively, and we'll
get no affordable housing or money for it, while we destroy our skyline for luxurydevelopment.
