RESOLUTION NO. 2697
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
BOZEMAN, MONTANA, REVISING CEMETERY BURIAL
REQUIREMENTS.
WHEREAS, the Bozeman City Commission on April 7, 1986,
enacted Ordinance No. 1200 providing for a Cemetery Advisory
Board to assist in the operation of Sunset Hills Cemetery by
making investigations and giving recommendations; and
WHEREAS, the Cemetery Advisory Board, after investigation,
has recommended that either vaults be used in burials or for
those individuals who desire not to use vaults, that a
payment-in-lieu fee be required to offset the increased
maintenance costs caused by settling of the grave; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission concurs with the recommendation
of the Cemetery Advisory Board;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA, that all burials in the Sunset Hills
Cemetery are hereafter required to use vaults or, in the
alternative, that those individuals desiring not to use vaults
shall pay a Two Hundred Dollar ($200) payment-in-lieu of vault
fee to offset the increased maintenance costs caused by grave
settling.

MONTANA at its regular session held on the 6th day of June, 1988.
