I thought I would share a quick digest of things you may have missed if one or more of DRMT’s weekly emails slipped past you during the hectic holiday season! JAN 5 DRMT asks you to think differently The R-word was used as a slur in political discourse and I provided a commentary that was published in the Montana Free Press. You can read more here: The R-Word Is Back An unconstitutional scheme to strip schools of public tax dollars to pay for private school (even private circus school, in one instance) was stopped by DRMT and our co-counsel and co-plaintiffs. You can learn more in the linked post and the accompanying interview in which I sit down with Tal Goldin, DRMT’s advocacy director, to discuss this case. DRMT Wins for Disabled Kids, Again! This weekly newsletter is filled with a lot of words and ideas. In December, DRMT announced a new initiative to give these thoughts life. DRMT is creating a space designed to help disability culture flourish. A space where culture can be learned, practiced, and built anew. DRMT is reimagining our building in Helena as a Disability Community Center. We want it to be a hub for events, learning, and connection.
