The public workshop on Thursday evening is one of severalopportunities for the public to give input to shape the park design. It is being held Thursday after Urban Parks and Forestry Board out of convenience, and in an interactive formatprepared by the moderators that cannot be recorded. Additionally, there is a public survey out right now posted at the project website (engage.Bozeman.net/bikefill) that I would encourage you to participate in. Once Januaryworkshop dates are final the details will be available there. (Please place the following public comment in the Urban Parks and Forestry Board folder in time for their December 18 meeting. Thank you.) December 15; 2025; 8:20 p.m. Dear Forestry, Parks, Recreation, and Cemetery Director Overton: I am writing to ask that the December 18 Bikefill Community Bike Park Visioning Workshop be video-and-audio-recorded for the permanent public record. I am asking for this workshop to be recorded because the Bikefill Project, as proposed, includes two trails that will seriously damage the riparian habitat running along the north and south banks of Churn Creek—damage that in turn will adversely affect resident andmigratory birds using this habitat. Also, the proposed northern perimeter trail may seriously damage the riparian habitat running along the north side of the intermittent (or ephemeral)creek that runs along the north boundary of the project area. There may be other wetland- related, bird habitat concerns within the project area as well. Consequently, having a video-audio recording of this particular Bikefill workshop will becrucial to ensuring that there will be no latent misunderstandings between the City and Bozeman residents as this project moves forward. Sincerely, Daniel Carty 213 N. 3rd Ave Bozeman, MT 59715 cc: Addi Jadin, Park Planning and Development Manager, and comments@bozeman.netfor the permanent public record.
