Hello Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and Commissioners -
70 ft - even 60 ft - is ample building height for the B3 zone in a city of Bozeman’s size. Additional height casts coldshadows on neighbors, creates a visual and physical tunnel effect, and blots out people’s connection to our shared,mountainous sense of place.
Any additional height should come at a cost to the developer and a win for the community. This is what theAffordable Housing Ordinance already offers.
I understand you are being pressured by a subset of developers perhaps accustomed to privilege who want more.Please don’t let special interest developers tower over our fair city. Stick to your guns at the compromised 70ft or bebold and roll back to 60ft.
