The memo includes a project description and drive-through queuing analysis. Project Description The proposed project is located at 3204 N 19th Ave in Bozeman, MT as shown in the Attachment A vicinity map. The proposed project includes a 6,058 square foot (SF) Chick-fil-A restaurant with indoor seating and dual drive through lanes. Vehicle access to/from the project is proposed via connection to the east leg of the existing N 19th Ave/E Valley Center Rd signalized intersection. A preliminary site plan concept is shown in Attachment B. Drive-Through Queuing Analysis To confirm the adequacy of storage provided for the proposed drive-through lanes, existing queuing observations were conducted by Transportation Studies Inc (TSI) at the following two (2) Chick-fil-A restaurants: · Chick-fil-A Irvine, CA, located at 4127 Campus Drive · Chick-fil-A Westminster, CA, located at 16388 Beach Boulevard The drive-through queuing observations were conducted during a 3-day period (Thursday-Saturday) between 7:00 AM and 8:00 PM and included recording the queuing observations in 5-minute intervals. A summary of the queue observations at the two (2) existing Chick-fil-A locations is summarized below in Table 1. Based on the current site plan for the proposed 3204 N 19th Avenue Chick-fil-A restaurant in Bozeman, the drive-through lanes will include space for approximately 37 vehicles (~920 feet) without encroaching into the drive-aisles. Based on these observations at similar Chick-fil-A locations, the storage provided on-site will be sufficient to accommodate the expected drive-through queues. The detailed drive-through queuing observations are included in Attachment C. Conclusion Below is a summary of the conclusions based on the information presented in this memo: · Based on queuing observations conducted at two (2) existing Chick-fil-A restaurants, the maximum observed queue (28 vehicles) is anticipated to be accommodated within the proposed drive-through lane storage (37 vehicles) without encroaching into the drive-aisles or impacting the operations of N 19th Avenue.
