Dear Bozeman City Commission,
My name is Maija Eickhoff. I’m a new Bozeman resident as of two months ago and a member
of the Bozeman Tenants Union. I’m so grateful to have landed in a stable living situation andsupportive community.
I support the Bozeman City Commission passing a Tenant Right to Council because I know
not everyone is as fortunate in finding good housing. Access to secure and livable housing is ahuman right - an essential foundation for a dignified, fulfilling, prosperous life. Tenants need
protections and all people deserve the ability to stand up for themselves in unfair situations. Iwould feel much safer knowing I could have access to free legal representation, if I end up
renting from a predatory landlord. It would be a massive win for our community to ensure thisprogram exists.
I encourage you to vote yes, passing a strong Tenant Right to Counsel Ordinance. Keep
Bozeman families safe and lead our state in bold solutions to the housing crisis.
