Hello Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Commissioners, and Director Fontenot,
I'm writing today in support of Natsuki Nakamura's appointment to the Economic Vitality
Board. Since Bozeman's housing situation is currently the largest area of interest for both theEconomic Vitality Board and the Economic Development Department, I can see no better
qualified applicant to fill this vacancy.
Natsuki has consistently demonstrated her depth of knowledge on many different types ofhousing policy. She understands the efforts Bozeman is currently using to tackle our housing
challenges, but she also brings forth many ideas, strategies, tactics, and policies we have nottried yet. I urge you to bring her on in this advisory capacity!
In the two years that I have known Natsuki, I have been impressed by her incredible work
ethic and level participation in this community. She continues to tirelessly advocate foradditional housing policy improvements.
Her membership in the Teamsters Union will bring a diverse perspective to the other
components of economic vitality in any community; working conditions and liveable wages. Idon't believe we currently have any union members serving on advisory boards. Her status as
a renter in Bozeman would elevate the voice of a sector of the populationconsistently identified as the underrepresented majority.
Thank you for considering my wholehearted recommendation to appoint Natsuki Nakamura to
the Economic Vitality Board. Bozeman would benefit immensely from her appointment.
