Dear Commissioners: I'm writing to offer comment on the Dec.2 Unified Development Code (UDC) Update with requested zoning map amendment for the Centennial Park neighborhood. As I understand it, Centennial Park neighbors reject R-C zoning that allows for up to 24 units in asingle building. I live near the Wallace- Peach intersection, and have no problems with the apartment building at Ida and Peach I can see from my house. I don't know how many units it contains, but it's probably close to 24 or so. Some say that more housing density does not bring down the high cost of rent. From what I'veread however, the biggest problems driving high housing costs are the critical shortage of newdevelopment alongside resident resistance to new buildings. I believe R-C zoning with a limitof 24 units is reasonable in the Centennial Park area, and I trust the UDC allows for highquality neighborhoods while encouraging desperately needed affordable housing. Thank you.Marilyn Guggenheim
