Dear Mayor, City Commissioners, and City Manager,
I support the recommendations made by the Gallatin Watershed Council in a letter sent to theBozeman City Commission on November 21, 2025. Please adopt their
recommendations included in Appendix A of their letter to foster sustainable growth andprotect shared water resources effectively.
To reiterate their key recommendations:General Provisions: Emphasize the protection of sensitive lands and encourage
development that aligns with natural site capacities.
Community Design: Recognize stormwater facilities as potential community amenities
and integrate natural resource stewardship into park priorities.
Project Design: Prioritize natural resource stewardship in site design, ensuring wetlands
and watercourses are considered as site constraints.
Permits and Procedures: Require early submission of aquatic resource delineation
reports and standardize terminology for aquatic resources to enhance clarity and
consistency in development reviews.
