Greeting City Commissioners,
As it stands now, the code General [Design] Standards. B. Natural Environment (38.410.010)
is:
"The design and development of all land uses must be properly related to topography,
and must, to the extent possible, preserve the natural terrain, natural drainage,
existing topsoil, trees and other existing vegetation."
I am writing to implore our Bozeman City Commissioners to eliminate the loophole created bythe vague wording of the above mentioned code and include the word "maximum" [extentpossible], as a means to better guide future development and hold future developers moreaccountable to better steward our land. The current code, as stated above, has been takenadvantage of on many occasions, leading to unnatural and unsustainable growth with great andnegative ecological impacts. We can do better by our land and its ecosystems.
