I am writing to oppose allowing MSU students advisory positions and tenants right to
taxpayer funded counsel.
MSU students are temporary residents in our community. They already have the right to
vote in Bozeman elections. No further consideration needs to be made for their
positions on issues. If they choose to remain here and live and work in the community
after graduation, then they can get involved at that point.
I also strongly oppose taxpayer funded legal aid for tenants. The citizens of this
community are tapped out. These type of assistance programs are not the responsibility
of the city and only worsen the cost of living for everyone.
