Dear Mayor Cunningham, Deputy Mayor Morrison, and Commissioners Madgic, Fischer, and Bode,
I am writing further public comment concerning the new transition requirements for streets less than 60 feet
wide. Last night, Mr. Saunders indicated that if a developer wanted to avoid the transition requirement for his
property, he could just give the city the required amount of easement to complete the 60 feet. This, in effect,
eliminates any requirements for a transition when street right of ways are less than 60 feet. What developer
wouldn’t just give the city the needed footage (or inches)? If this is true, this loophole needs to be closed.
Thank you for your attention to this hole in the code.
