Besides the insolent, disrespectful, greedy self serving comments of Matt Paine, who presumably echoes developers, what gives developers and the commission the right to destroy the very essence of what makes Bozeman, Bozeman? Is there any merit to the history of a place? The story mansion is gone, the opera house is gone, the train depot at the library (whose bricks were supposed to be palletized - anyone know where they are?) gone, old gas stations and factories… footprints and memory serve us. History serves us. Destroying the core of downtown, the historic homes and feel, is not the answer to affordable housing and growth. We are being owned by the developers. They serve only themselves. Think beyond the ‘quick fix bandaid’ to something thats compatible with Bozeman’s rich history. Up- zoning the old neighborhoods isn’t the answer!
