HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions 2025-69 - Setting the Annual Salary for the Municipal Court JudgesVersion February 2023 1 RESOLUTION 2025-69 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA, SETTING THE ANNUAL SALARY FOR THE MUNICIPAL COURT JUDGES. WHEREAS, the Bozeman City Commission has the exclusive authority pursuant to §3-6-203, MCA and Sec. 22.01.090, BMC, to establish the annual salary of the municipal judges; and WHEREAS, the judges of the Bozeman Municipal Court are elected officials of the City of Bozeman; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City of Bozeman, Montana: Section 1 Effective July 1, 2023, the annual salary of a full-time elected Municipal Court Judge is $175,335.23 as previously established by Resolution 5518. The chief judge of the Municipal Court, as designated by Title 3 Chapter 6 of the Montana Code Annotated, will receive an additional five percent (5.0%) of the above annual salary for performing the duties required of a chief municipal court judge as required by 3-6-201(5), MCA. Effective January 1, 2026, the salary for a full-time elected Municipal Court Judge shall be adjusted annually based on the U.S. Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers for All Items as published in the preceding December. Section 2 During their term in office, municipal court judges may opt to participate in the employee benefits program provided to individual City employees and may choose the type of coverage plan they wish to participate in of those offered by the City. As such, the municipal court judges may opt to receive the standard City contribution to health insurance coverage applicable to City employees at the amount set for all City employees and elected officials. In addition, municipal court judges may opt to participate in, at their own cost, health club memberships and ancillary benefits pursuant to policies established by the City Manager. Section 3 All resolutions and ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. Withdrawing your consent If you decide to receive notices and disclosures from us electronically, you may at any time change your mind and tell us that thereafter you want to receive required notices and disclosures only in paper format. How you must inform us of your decision to receive future notices and disclosure in paper format and withdraw your consent to receive notices and disclosures electronically is described below. Consequences of changing your mind If you elect to receive required notices and disclosures only in paper format, it will slow the speed at which we can complete certain steps in transactions with you and delivering services to you because we will need first to send the required notices or disclosures to you in paper format, and then wait until we receive back from you your acknowledgment of your receipt of such paper notices or disclosures. To indicate to us that you are changing your mind, you must withdraw your consent using the DocuSign ‘Withdraw Consent’ form on the signing page of a DocuSign envelope instead of signing it. This will indicate to us that you have withdrawn your consent to receive required notices and disclosures electronically from us and you will no longer be able to use the DocuSign system to receive required notices and consents electronically from us or to sign electronically documents from us. All notices and disclosures will be sent to you electronically Unless you tell us otherwise in accordance with the procedures described herein, we will provide electronically to you through the DocuSign system all required notices, disclosures, authorizations, acknowledgements, and other documents that are required to be provided or made available to you during the course of our relationship with you. To reduce the chance of you inadvertently not receiving any notice or disclosure, we prefer to provide all of the required notices and disclosures to you by the same method and to the same address that you have given us. Thus, you can receive all the disclosures and notices electronically or in paper format through the paper mail delivery system. If you do not agree with this process, please let us know as described below.
