HomeMy WebLinkAboutForestry 2026 UFMP - RFP Questions2026 Urban Forest Management Plan RFP Q&A Compilation 1. Should District 3 be utilized for the prevailing wage for this work? Forestry Technician has no prevailing wage rate established. a. The details of prevailing wage are a bit out of my expertise. If your firm was selected for this project, we’d get clarification from our legal department before entering into a contract. 2. Does the City want a pricing sheet submitted with the proposal? a. We did not share the budget for this project in the RFP. A pricing sheet would be helpful to understand rates and potentially consider services extending beyond the allotted budget. 3. Can the City share the budget for this project? a. See above. 4. When was the inventory conducted and has it been updated since? a. The inventory was conducted in 2018 and continuously updated by 5 Forestry full time employees. We work directly with the City’s GIS & Asset Management teams to maintain the inventory system. We believe the data are highly accurate and seek professional assessment of our current approach and its sustainability over the next ten years. 5. Is there a minimum number of in-person meetings and community engagement events? a. There is no minimum number. We assume competitive submittals would use professional discretion to balance an effective number of meetings with competitive pricing given the parameters of the RFP’s “III. Scope of Services”. 6. Does the City have an estimated deadline for the completion of this project? a. The RFP’s “III. Scope of Services” requires a one year completion time from the date of selection and contract signing. 7. Are there any related bid tabs available for review? a. This is a unique project for the City of Bozeman and as such, there are no bid tabs available. Scoring of submittals will be based on the RFP’s “IX. Selection Criteria” and competitive pricing. 8. Does the City have an existing inventory? If so, what year is it from and what format is that data in? If not, is the City hoping to collect tree inventory data? a. Yes, the City currently has a complete and continuous inventory. It’s maintained daily by recording planting/pruning/removal activities from in-house staff and contractors. This is pushing my expertise, but we rely on our GIS & Asset Management staff for the data side. They use Esri suite (Field Maps, GeoCortex, Dashboard, etc.) and I believe the format is shapefile. 9. Does the City have an existing tree canopy dataset/tree canopy assessment? If so, what year is it from? If not, is the City hoping to complete a canopy analysis? a. The City has LiDar and Landcover Datasets from a recent flyover, with plans to conduct ongoing flyovers on a 2-3 year frequency. Plans to analyze this into canopy data are in development with our GIS & Asset Management staff. 10. Can the City share an estimated budget for this work? a. The City will consider a competitive budget in addition to section IX “Selection Criteria” of the RFP amongst all submitted proposals.
