Dear Mayor and City Commissioners,
I am writing to encourage you to adopt the suggestions listed in the Better Bozeman
Coalition's (BBC) "Recommendations on Bozeman's Draft Unified Development Code Update
(UDC), Fall 2025".
Bozeman is a special place. Its historic core with century old mansions, a log home, a
repurposed neighborhood grocery, and a myriad collection of unique dwellings gives
Bozeman a beautiful soul. Although I don't live or work in the core of Bozeman, my feelings
for the city are colored by that backdrop. Please strengthen the protections for this area of
our city. Please do not allow Bozeman to be hoisted upon its own petard through the pursuit
of density at all costs.
Your thoughtful consideration of the recommendations of the BBC regarding the UDC update
plus a strengthening of the requirements of the Neighborhood Conservation Overlay District
will ensure that Bozeman remains a city of mature beauty.
