As we near the completion of the UDC update it seems strange to suddenly have the upzoning
of 11th thrown on the table. Of course it makes sense to have greater density along the majorcorridors, that is not what 11th is. I drive to the West side all the time to go to my daughter's
house on 14th. Her kids attend Irving School so have to cross that street and an adult has towalk with them to cross that street. It's pretty busy when MSU is in session and it is a simple
2 lane street. To enlarge it would eliminate all the parking and put traffic very close toneighborhood sidewalks. It already has a variety of housing styles. What's with the sudden
surprise upzoning idea?
Please keep the September 19 UDC plan for the BonTon neighborhood. It makes sense andsupports the many hours of work by the residents. Yes, we are the ones you hear from
frequently, because we care about the livability of our neighborhoods. When they aredeveloped for greater density, we end up with empty units that are visited a few times of the
year by the wealthy owners. Please do not sacrifice what makes Bozeman special for moreempty density.
Keep hope alive, Mary Lou Osman
