HomeMy WebLinkAbout026 L302 Irrigation NotesIRRIGATION GENERAL NOTES1.PRIOR TO COMMENCING WORK, THE APPLICANT MUST CONTACT THE CITY OF BOZEMAN WATERCONSERVATION DIVISION TO SCHEDULE A PRE-INSTALLATION MEETING.2.A BACKFLOW PREVENTER SHALL BE PROFESSIONALLY INSTALLED AS PER THE CITY OF BOZEMANREQUIREMENTS (SEE IRRIGATION SCHEDULE L301).3.IRRIGATION CONTROLLERS LABELED BY U.S. EPA WATERSENSE® PROGRAM ARE REQUIRED.4.IRRIGATION CONTRACTOR SHALL INSTALL A RAINBIRD (OR SIMILAR) WEATHER SENSOR WHERE APPROPRIATE(SEE IRRIGATION SCHEDULE L301).5.CONTRACTOR TO INSTALL CONTROLLER AND ACCESSORIES AS REQUIRED. CONTROL WIRES AND VALVESTO CONTROLLER TO BE FURNISHED BY CONTRACTOR.6.CONTRACTOR TO COORDINATE WITH ELECTRICAL FOR CONTROLLER CONNECTION & POWER.7.INSTALLED SYSTEM TO BE FULLY WINTERIZEABLE. CONTRACTOR TO PROVIDE OWNERS WINTERIZATION PLAN(SEE IRRIGATION SCHEDULE & PLAN FOR QUICK COUPLER TYPE/LOCATIONS).8.IRRIGATION POC WILL BE CONNECTED TO CITY SERVICE.9.IRRIGATION DESIGN ASSUMES 16 GPM AVAILABLE FROM WATER SOURCE AND 65 PSI STATIC PRESSURE.10.CONTRACTOR TO VERIFY STATIC PRESSURE ON SITE PRIOR TO BIDDING AND CONSTRUCTION.11.CARE SHALL BE TAKEN TO ENSURE IRRIGATION SYSTEM IS INSTALLED PROPERLY TO MINIMIZE/ELIMINATEWATER WASTE DUE TO OVER SPRAY ONTO HARDSCAPE SURFACES.12.SPRINKLER HEADS MUST BE SPACED 2" MINIMUM FROM ALL HARDSCAPE EDGES.13.MAINLINE SHALL BE TRENCHED. PROVIDE POSITIVE DRAINAGE. PLACE MANUAL DRAIN AT LOW POINTS INMAINLINE. IDENTIFY LOCATIONS ON AS-BUILTS.14.THRUST BLOCKS TO BE INSTALLED AT ALL MAINLINE CHANGES IN DIRECTION (SEE IRRIGATION DETAILSL303).15.INSTALL ALL IRRIGATION PIPE AND CONTROL WIRES IN PVC SLEEVE MINIMUM TWICE THE AGGREGATEDIAMETER OF PIPE & WIRES BELOW ALL PAVED SURFACES. INSTALL SLEEVES PRIOR TO PLACEMENT OFPAVEMENT AND SUB-BASE.16.ALL SPRINKLER BODIES SHALL USE FLEXIBLE SWING JOINTS OR SWING PIPE TO CONNECT TO LATERAL LINES.17.IRRIGATION SYSTEM TO BE INSTALLED WITH HEAD-TO-HEAD COVERAGE FOR OVERHEAD IRRIGATION ZONES.18.CONTRACTOR MAY NOT DECREASE PIPE SIZE SHOWN ON PLAN. A LARGER PIPE SIZE MAY BE USED WITH ANADDITIONAL COST TO OWNER.19.SEEDED AREAS ARE TO BE ZONED SEPARATELY AND TEMPORARILY IRRIGATED FOR ESTABLISHMENT PERIOD.ZONES SHALL BE DISCONNECTED OR REMOVED AFTER ONE FULL GROWING SEASON OR AFTER 80% SEEDESTABLISHMENT VIA REDUCING RUN TIMES TO 0 MINUTES, WIRES DISCONNECTED, OR PHYSICALLYREMOVING COMPONENTS. (ESTABLISHMENT PERIOD MAY NOT EXCEED 3 YEARS).20.TEMPORARY IRRIGATION TO SEEDED AREAS ARE TO UTILIZE POP-UP SPRAY BODIES IN LIEU OF ON-SURFACETEMPORARY IRRIGATION.21.ALL LANDSCAPE BEDS TO RECEIVE DRIP IRRIGATION. HIGH EFFICIENCY DRIP IRRIGATION ZONES SHALL HAVE2 GALLON/HR EMITTERS TO ALL SHRUBS, AND 1 GALLON/HR EMITTERS TO ALL PERENNIALS AND GRASSES.22.ALL TREES SHALL BE IRRIGATED WITH HIGH EFFICIENCY DRIP RINGS AND ZONED SEPARATELY FROMSHRUBS, PERENNIALS, AND GRASSES. IDENTIFIERS ON TREE DRIP LINES HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FORFUTURE MAINTENANCE.23.DRIP IRRIGATION MUST BE INSTALLED WITH THE ABILITY TO EASILY FLUSH THE LINE.24.ALL ZONES MUST BE SEPARATED BASED ON HYDROZONES SHOWN ON PLAN.25.ON THE NORTH SIDES OF STRUCTURES OR HEAVY CLAY SOILS, CARE SHALL BE TAKEN TO MINIMIZE OVERWATERING DEPENDING ON SOIL CONDITIONS AND THE SIZE OF EMITTER MAY BE REDUCED.26.CONTRACTOR RESPONSIBLE FOR PROVIDING OWNER WITH IRRIGATION AS-BUILTS AT COMPLETION OFINSTALLATION.27.CONTRACTOR RESPONSIBLE TO INFORM LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT OF ANY DISCREPANCIES OR CHANGESNEEDED TO IRRIGATION DESIGN.
