Hello City Manager, Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and Commissioners, I'm writing to you today to request that you remove item F6. from the Commissioners consent agenda for October 28th, and do NOT approve this contract. The Lakota Group lacks members that fulfill the Secretary of the Interior's ProfessionalQualifications Standards, aka Historic Preservation. Considering they are being hired to update the NCOD it seems that Conservation, aka, in a built environment, historic preservationshould be prominent. Or do you go to restaurants where the chef eschue's salt, hire contractors that don't use siding, etc. Shall I continue with the list of idotic discrepancies? I cannot evenexplain how insulting it is, especially in light of the city's position regarding the NCOD and the Guthrie proposal. Survey after survey shows that the residents of this town want more historic preservation notless. We do not want the NCOD to be watered down. We want it strengthened. I know the developers breathing down your necks want an open door to demo and re-build whereverthey please, but listen to us or we will eat whole garlic bulbs before breathing down your necks. Hiring a consultant for the NCOD that doesn't have any, let alone strong, historicpreservation knowledge and qualifications takes another chance for true trust between the residents and the city and throws it away. The Historic Preservation Advisory Board should have been asked to review the materialssubmitted by each applicant for this contract. Open a new search for qualified consultants. Thank you, Michelle Osman
