Hello City Manager, Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and Commissioners,
I'm writing to you today to request that you remove item F6. from the Commissioners consent
agenda for October 28th, and do NOT approve this contract.
The Lakota Group does not appear to have any member of their team that meets the Secretaryof the Interior's Professional Qualifications Standards.
The Historic Preservation Advisory Board should have been asked to review the materials
submitted by each applicant for this contract.
It's not too late to ask them to do that.
Bozeman residents want stronger protections for the NCOD and our historic districts,including these design guidelines. This consultant lacks the proper qualifications and
experience to deliver that outcome for residents. Until they can demonstrate properqualifications they should not be granted this contract. Perhaps a different applicant was more
qualified. If not, the search needs to be opened again.
This Commission has a record of hiring consultants with no understanding of the Bozemancommunity, Montana history, aesthetics, or community building in general, and with little to
no competence regarding the situation they're hired to analyze. Choose differently this time,please.
