Gallatin Valley Communities That Care (GVCTC) is a prevention coalition that utilizes a strategic prevention framework (called CTC) to prevent problem behaviors within our youth before they happen. Who we are:The GVCTC Coalition is comprised of action -oriented people across the county who have a passion for youth and for the practice of prevention. What we do: •Implement the 5 phases of the CTC Framework •Promote the holistic well-being of our youth within the community •Support and collaborate with local partners Phase 1: Getting Started All the behind the scenes work to get a community ready to go. Key community leaders decide to bring CTC into the community and invite stakeholders to the conversation. Phase 2: Get Organized A coalition is created and organized into workgroups. All structure and procedures of the coalition are developed. Phas e 3A: Develop a Profile Gather local data to identify priority risk and protective factors. 8 11 Prioritized Behavioral Health Problems: Substance Abuse & Depression/Anxiety 13 14 15 The Prevention Needs Assessment (PNA) •Given to 8th, 10th, 12th graders •29.2% participation across the county•Administered on even years•Voluntary at every level •Completely anonymous** •Validity checks within survey•Contracted out by ISA Data 16 Phase 3B: Develop a Profile Gather local data to identify priority risk and protective factors. Then, evaluate local resources and any potential gaps in addressing the priority risk and protective factors. Phase 4: Create a Plan Create an action plan based on what we found in Phase 3. Phase 5: Implement & Evaluate Implementation of programs/practices/policies that address the priority risk and protective factor and evaluate its effectiveness.
