HomeMy WebLinkAboutQuestions & Answers - Library Solar PV Expansion RFP1 City of Bozeman Library Solar PV Expansion Request for Qualifications Questions and Answers Updated 10/21/25 Question: Regarding a contract with the roofing contractor to install the U-Anchors; should this contract be priced out to be included in the Solar PV Proposal, or is this something that the owner would like to handle? Answer: The Solar PV Proposal should include the installation of the U-Anchors by a roofing contractor. Question: Is it acceptable to place the DC conduit for the roof-mounted array externally on the external walls of the building? Answer: It is acceptable to place the DC conduit on the rear (south-east) external walls of the building. Including a powder coat color match finish for the conduit preferable. Question: Based on the size of the U-Anchor plate relative to the size of the purlins, is it acceptable to have some screws that penetrate the steel deck be visible below? Answer: The GL purlins are 5.125” wide, and the U-Anchor fastener hole pattern is 4.125” wide. During installation, care should be taken to minimize visible screws below the deck. Question: Can we substitute Silfab SIL-440-QD for JA-JAM54-D41-440MB panels? 2 Answer: Yes, JA-JAM54-D41-440MB panels are an acceptable substitute. The City may favor equipment containing domestic content. Question: Who is the manufacturer of the TPO roof membrane? Answer: The sloped roof section where the solar panels will be located is Genflex 60 mil TPO. The flat roof sections are GAF TPO. Question: Do we have a preferred roofer for the Library? Answer: Our preferred roofer is Summit Roofing. Question: Can you provide the Library Construction Documents? Answer: Yes, the original Library Construction Documents are available on SharePoint. Please send file access requests to nmeyer@bozeman.net. Question: Is it possible to have an engineer’s estimate or budget for construction? Answer: The DOE grant award and total project budget is $116,320. Question: 3 What is the anticipated start date and completion date for construction? Answer: The City aims to execute a Professional Services Agreement by 11/25/2025. Final design and permitting is anticipated in Q1 2026, with equipment installation in Q2 2026. The deadline for system commissioning and operation is 5/29/2026.
