HomeMy WebLinkAboutLetter of Support for Rebecca-from Dorothy Bradley October 2, 2025 To: The Historic Preservation Advisory Board Re: Letter of Support of Rebecca Ballotta, for a Historic Preservation Award Greetings: I am always on the lookout for local heroes who are deserving of being brought out of the shadows and into the sun, in recognition for their special contributions. Rebecca Ballotta has been a quiet force of nature saving Ballroom Dance Bozeman from oblivion after covid. Since then, she has been serving as its president and carrying it forward while morphing it back into a wonderful dance venue with beautiful decorations at official events, short advisories to keep us looking professional, and newly added side benefits of dance workshops and clinics. She even stands in as a talented DJ when needed. (This is a major sacrifice for her since she is a talented and joyful dancer.) I am not exaggerating when I say “oblivion.” Most of our Board resigned in 2021, just as the community was opening back up after covid, and Rebecca had to single-handedly move things forward and upward. Read the narrative in the Statement of Merit for the details. I think our organization is a particularly special group. It is open to anyone whether a beginner, single, old or young. I always look forward to the zest and camaraderie Rebecca unfailingly brings. She is as dedicated and energetic as a leader can be – and, of course, totally selfless. Thank you for your consideration of Rebecca Ballotta for a Historic Preservation Award!
