Dear Bozeman Historic Preservation Advisory
Board,
I am writing to enthusiastically support the
nomination of Rachel Phillips for the
Preservation Stewardship and Leadership
Award. I have known Rachel for over fifteen
years and her dedication and commitment to
the Gallatin History Museum (GHM) and the
preservation of Bozeman’s history is
unsurpassed.
When visiting the Gallatin History Museum, it is always a joy to be greeted by Rachel,
knowing that whatever document or record you need she will do her best to secure it
for you. She is an outstanding professional, committed to the Museum and to the
history of Bozeman. Rachel’s work with the volunteer team at the Museum is also to be
commended. She is able to manage a large volunteer crew, maintaining order and
productivity.
Rachel has published a book on local historical and not-so-historical figures from
Bozeman. This book, “Legendary Locals of Bozeman” is a wonderful contribution and
documents our local history.
I strongly encourage you to consider Rachel’s nomination for the Preservation Award, it
would be so well-deserved. Thank you!
