I received my PhD in Economics at MIT for my thesis exploring how government policies can best be designed to meet environmental and land use goals. Broadly, my training as a public and environmental economist prepares me to balance economic, social, and environmental goals; to spot possible unintended consequences of policies; and to find ways to mitigate them. I want to help Bozeman keep our environmental, artistic, and community values while making the changes needed to grow well. * The City of Bozeman strongly values diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). Describe any efforts you have engaged in to expand your understanding of DEI. I grew up as a child in the Bozeman School system, where I prized the diversity of my classmates and friends. My friends included the children of professors and doctors as well as those of waiters and construction workers. My longtime Bozeman friends still carry that diversity of experience, and I want to build policy that supports the full range of them. I also bring the experiences of being a queer woman in Bozeman.
