Lot 3 of Tract 6 in the Gardner Simmental Plaza Subdivision is within the Bozeman Solvent S main contaminant of concern for the Bozeman Solvent Site is tetrachloroethene(PCE). The closest Bozeman Solvent Site monitoring wells to the project I shown on the aerial location map you provided are M-40(deep)/M-41 (shallow). M-40/M-41 are located approximately 500 ft to the east and cross gradie attached figure. Groundwater flow is from the south to the north. M-40 is constructed to a depth of 130 feet and M-41 is constructed to a depth of 30 feet. M-40/M-41 were last sampled in 2014 as part of the Bozeman So In 2014, PCE was not detected(<0.50 pg/L)in M-40 and was detected at 1.8 pg/L in M-41. Depth to groundwater at the time of sampling was 13.09 feet it 11.47 feet in M-41. In August 2011,the Montana Department of Environmental Quality(DEQ)issued the Record of Decision(ROD)for the Bozeman Solvent Site. The ROD i1 that the Bozeman Solvent Site site-specific clean up level(SSCL)for PCE in groundwater is 5 pg/L.The ROD identified the final cleanup remedy for this pc Bozeman Solvent Site as monitored natural attenuation(MNA). The PCE concentrations last detected in M-40/M-41 are below the SSCL. The ROD does not identify construction requirements related to the Bozeman Solvent Site in the area of your project. If construction activities require a de permit,a Construction Dewatering General Permit(CDGP)may be required by DEQ's Water Protection Bureau. The CDGP application requires the applic contact me regarding current groundwater plume conditions. This email may satisfy that requirement. Please note, the CDGP may have different requirem PCE concentrations than the Bozeman Solvent Site SSCL prior to discharge under a CDGP. In addition, your project is within the Bozeman Solvent Site Controlled Groundwater Area(CGWA).The CGWA is administered by the Montana Departmen Resources and Conservation. The CGWA limits the type of groundwater wells that can be installed. Please let me know if you have questions.
