· Regarding equipment, city is looking for contractors to propose a work plan – staff, equipment,
operations – you believe can get the job done. City does not have a specific equipment fleet
established as a minimum requirement.
· City will accept residual ice on pavement. Bare pavement is not required. City expects to make
assignments based on condition of the street and won’t send contractor out if only city graders
with cutting blades would do the job.
· Parked cars are expected to be a challenge in some neighborhoods. City will expect snow to be
cleared through the width of drive aisle where parked cars are present and avoid burying parked
cars. City understands that there’s egregious cases each winter of parked cars turning into snow
lumps and will have our Parking Enforcement Division out ticketing to remove them as the winter
progresses.
· City will consider a price escalator for extreme weather conditions in contract negotiations.
Please price your per mile estimate with loose accumulation under 8” in mind.
