City Commissioners, I encourage one or more of you to stop by the southwest corner of Highland and Ellis to take a look at the posted photo of the hospital's expansion project plans. If you put aside any previous knowledge and look at the photo cold, I expect you'll have the same difficulty envisioning exactly what's where -- and maybe get a twisted neck in the process -- that a friend and I had on Saturday. As you can read from the exchange below, instead of posting a photo that makes sense looking from the standpoint of that corner, the City Community Development Department insists on using a one-size-fits-all approach, with north always at the top. Not user friendly, to say the least. I hope you will call them to order on this. All notice boards are orientated so North is the top of the page. This is to ensure consistency amongst our notice signs and to allow more flexibility on where the notice boards can be placed on site. Thank you. Hi, On a walk today, a friend and I saw the fenced off area on thenortheast side of the hospital and then the photo of the phase 1 planposted at the corner of Highland & Ellis. Looking at the aerial photo,it took a few minutes and a lot of discussion to place everything. Thereason is that the photo is upside down relative to that location, withAspen Pointe at the bottom. I don't know about photo conventions, butit would be helpful to have a photo there (and elsewhere?) thatresembles what viewers are actually looking at, and allow them to moreeasily make sense of the project plan.
