If you are not aware of this, MSU allows Fraternities to have parties with alcohol 10 times a semester, 20 times a year. This means that a frat that has 50 members is allowed to ask two guests and are allowed to have a party with beer. A fraternity house located in a single family home with three bedrooms and a very small living room is unacceptable MSU does not allow women at a party where the party/drinking will be in the samelevel of the home where there are bedrooms. Now try to find a single family house like this, to have over 90-100 persons drinking and with mixed company. I have lived for 27 years with 5 students living next door to me, 5 students living across the street, 7 students living caddy corner to me, 5 students living behind me. These students will once in a while have parties, but usually with a few friends. If itdoes get a bit out of hand I am able to go over and tell them to go inside, or calltheir manager. When you have 50-90 students may I tell you it is a mess. I am telling you this story because a fraternity moved into a house where their yardbutted up to mine. This was the frat that was in a single family home that I hadbeen in many many times, so I knew the whole set up of the house. Fraternities and Sororities are not Group living, they are a special breed and need to be known and zoned as what they are Frats and Sororities. Please don't think that my neighbors are NIMBY...we have had students around us and for years, we love them...yet they need to be classified as to what they are, and they are not Group living.
