I am requesting the Thin Red and Thin Blue Line flags as well as the flags of all military branches be made "Official
City Flags" of Bozeman. I realize the military flags are federally approved, and the red and blue line flags are not
currently. However, the legal precedent was set when the pride flag was officially made a city flag and therefore all
flags presented must now be considered. It would be great to honor our men and women in public safety and
military service. The number of veterans represented in Bozeman is stated at 8.9% whereas the LGBTQ+ community
is cited between 2-4%. Add the public safety officers and you are presumably between 9-10% representation in
Bozeman. Therefore, in all fairness, I ask that you adopt these flags as official city flags. They do help represent what
local government is and should be focused on, public safety and infrastructure. To NOT adopt these flags would be
considered discriminatory, as again the precedent was set by the Commission.
