Summertime, and the living is
hectic
Far from being a season for relaxation, summer in
Montana might be our busiest time of year. Thereare precious few of these long, sunny days to make
the most of, so we tend to pack in as much as wecan.
The same could be said for our summer issue ofState of the Arts, the Montana Arts Council's
quarterly newspaper. In this edition we examinehow artists are making the most of limited
resources: turning musical lumps of coal intosparkling sonic diamonds, crafting raw materials into
raw beauty, even appreciating the ways time chipsaway at the very bodies we inhabit.
