Hi there,
As a Harvest Creek resident, I’m thrilled to hear about the in-depth analysis and thoughtful
consideration given to the Fowler Road Connection and the Fowler housing development. Assomeone who regularly bikes to work from Harvest Creek to Huffine, using the current trail
connecting Durston to Babcock, I’m particularly excited about the 8-foot wide multi-use trail. It’ll be a breeze to connect to the Gallatin Regional Park and my work on Huffine. The plans
I’ve seen include some greenspace and landscaping, which I appreciate greatly. Regarding theroad connection, I’m looking forward to it relieving some pressure off New Holland.
As a parent of a high schooler (with younger kids not far behind), I’m also eager for a round-
a-bout at Annie and a new route to the high school.
Here are a few things I’d like to share:
1) As a Rose Street resident, I’d prefer no connection there.
2) The Fowler Housing Development, as proposed, seems a bit too dense. I’m concernedabout parking spilling into our neighborhood. I think it would be best to build as close to Zone
2 or 3 as possible, with ample garage space for everyone’s vehicles. I’m also worried thatunless the greenspace is expanded upon, the residents of Fowler will overuse Harvest Creek’s
Monkey Park. While as a city park, all are welcome, I do worry that a large increase in nearbyresidents could change the character of that park. For instance, with the number of residents
that could be packed into the housing development and not enough green space to walk theirdogs, they’re likely to head to nearby Monkey Park. I think it would be great if you could
consider greater green space and less density. I appreciate that you’ve taken into account high-end design, curb appeal, and plan to set the income level somewhere that includes working
professionals.
Thanks for considering my comments and your ongoing efforts to improve our city.
Best regards,James Pummel
