Dear Bozeman City Commission,
As a dedicated Bozeman resident, I strongly support the Boutique Hotel project onMendenhall and urge its approval. This development will revitalize our downtown and
Bozeman Creek, delivering significant community benefits.
Economic Impact
The hotel will drive business to downtown shops and restaurants by providing convenientlodging for visitors. It will create short- and long-term jobs through construction and
operations, while generating substantial tax revenue to support Bozeman’s growth.
Bozeman Creek Access
The proposed watercourse setback deviation is essential for improving Bozeman Creek onprivate property. Currently obscured and inaccessible, this section of the creek will become a
clean, safe, and welcoming public space through the hotel’s shared patio. Unlike otherdevelopments that might restrict access due to liability, the hotel is incentivized to maintain
the creek, aligning with the Bozeman Creek Improvement Plan. This public-privatepartnership is critical to achieving lasting, meaningful access for residents.
Revitalizing BozemanThis project represents the highest and best use of a vacant lot, introducing a thoughtfully
designed landmark—the first in decades—to a run-down area of downtown. It will catalyzeredevelopment, enhancing our city’s vibrancy and appeal.
Approving the hotel and setback deviation will foster economic growth, enhance public accessto Bozeman Creek, and set a standard for quality development. I respectfully urge the
Commission to move forward with this transformative project.
