Dear City Commission Members, I am writing in support of the Boutique Hotel and their deviation request in application 24147. I believe this project will bring significant benefits to our community and should be approved.I am a 4th generation Montanan, graduate of Bozeman High School and Montana State University. I am a business owner in Gallatin County and have seen the many changes thathave come to this great valley we call home. I have personally spoken to the developers of this project and heard their vision for this parcel, and I believe in the benefits it will bring to the downtown area. I frequently travel to numerouscommunities across this great state. What sets Bozeman apart from most places, is the thriving and vibrant downtown commerce and experience. Having a hotel and restaurant of this qualityin the heart of downtown, in my opinion, will only enhance the quality and experience for visitors to Bozeman. Which in turn means more commerce for local businesses. A key benefit of this development is that it will provide Bozeman residents with improved,long-term access to Bozeman Creek. This public access is a valuable amenity that will enhance our community's connection to nature right in the heart of downtown. I understand adeviation from the creek set-back is in question for this project. I believe the developers plan for public creek access, even with the deviation, will enhance the public access and enjoymentof the creek beyond its current status. In my view, this hotel represents a value-added use for this property and the downtown area in general. The section of downtown, unfortunately, has become very dated, and is in need ofimprovement. This project offers an opportunity to revitalize the area, improving both its aesthetics and functionality. More hotel beds in the downtown area will reduce commutingfrom regional hotels to the downtown area, as patrons of the hotel have easy foot access to downtown and its shops & restaurants. The economic benefits of this development cannot be overstated. It will create numerous localjobs, both during construction and ongoing operations. Additionally, it will generate significant tax revenue for our city, helping to fund essential services and improvements thatbenefit all residents. In conclusion, I believe this hotel project strikes an excellent balance between economic development, environmental stewardship, and community benefit. I strongly encourage you toapprove this application and allow our city to move forward with this exciting opportunity.
