Thompson - Hotel Proposal between S Bozeman and S Rouse AveFrom:Amelia Thompson To:Bozeman Public Comment Subject:[EXTERNAL]Hotel Proposal between S Bozeman and S Rouse Ave Date:Tuesday, August 5, 2025 11:13:53 AM CAUTION: This email originated from outside of the organization. Do not click links or open attachments unless you recognize the sender and know the content is safe. To the city commission: I am Amelia D Thompson, residing at 1625 Tschache Ln Unit 302 here in Bozeman, Montana. I am also a nine-year full-time employee and baking manager at Cafe M at 777 East MainStreet in Bozeman. I write to urge consistent enforcement of two well-established policies in the Bozeman MunicipalCode that govern how downtown development occurs: (1) the requirement that new projects develop parking to meet new demand, and (2) the 35-foot setback from Bozeman Creek. Bothpolicies were in effect when the applicant acquired the subject property and both continue to protect the long-term health, balance, and sustainabilityof Bozeman’s urban core. As a partner if, friend to members, and a patron to the Last Best Comedy community I am concerned that a lack of adherence to these policies will negativelyeffect this local business. LBC depends on local traffic, Bozeman people who want to see high quality entertainment. The other businesses close by also rely on and/or benefit from this parking area in particular:Tarantino’s Pizza, The Pour House, Roly Poly Coffee, Zebra, the number of small business offices and spaces in The Bozeman building in the floors above the main level. Removing nearparking impacts unique and growing Bozeman-based businesses. As a long time (since 2016) employee working for Cafe M a few blocks down, and as a partner, colleague and friend of many who work with and for LBC, Roly Poly and a number ofbusinesses on the block of The Bozeman, it is clear year after year that parking is a precious commodity for every single downtown business. We do not need another downtown hotel atthis time. I oppose the approval of this project proposal and encourage the city commission to once again vote not to move forward with this project based on all stated above. Thank you for your time, Amelia Thompsonamelia.darlynne@gmail.com (406) 580-2300 1625 Tschache Ln Unit 302 Bozeman, MT 59718
