Hi,
I am writing in support of the Boutique hotel site plan as it's COA deviation application (App.
#24-147).
This project is a prime example of thoughtful infill development we are not seeing inBozeman right now.
As it relates to Bozeman Creek and the Commission's prioritization of such - considering the
setback encroachment, and challenging the developer to come back with an improved plan, isdoing exactly that. This project can serve as the anchor to the Commission's goal of improving
and enhancing public interaction with Bozeman Creek. Providing both greenspace andhardscaping along Bozeman Creek creates an amenity that patrons of downtown can enjoy.
This includes hotel guests and local residents.
Approving this project signals to the design/development community that solutions are whatcomes out of Commission reviewed items. If this project is denied again there is a great
chance this site remains a parking lot for many years to come, and probably becomesprivatized. This would be a net loss to all parties (public, applicant, and Bozeman Creek).
These are the type of projects we should be excited about as they elevate the surrounding area
and create more opportunities for visitors, business owners, and local residents enjoyingdowntown.
Thanks,
Jackson Bruff
