Honorable Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Commissioners, I'm writing today in support of the Friends of Fowler, and their recommendations to improve the 60% design of the Fowler Avenue Connection. When you examine the 60% design on August 12th, please make changes to remove theshared use path on the east side in just the section where it would be directly in front of the existing residences in the Fowler Place subdivision. If this is not possible, please include signage asking bikers to reduce their speed through thissection, and include landscape mitigation measures in the FAC project budget to reduce the negative impacts to these residents. With a continuous shared use path on the West side ofFowler, it is not needed on the East as well. Additionally, please hold off on connections at Farmall and Caterpillar street until the proposed housing development is further along. The proximity of these connections to theproposed roundabouts at Anne and Oak pose safety concerns and could increase traffic on New Holland. Wait to punch these connections through. They may not be needed. Every development in Bozeman should seek to be neighborhood friendly and contextsensitive. This design has come a long way thanks to the Friends of Fowler and City Staff working together. Let's keep up the good work by incorporating the recommendationssubmitted by the Friends of Fowler for this 60% design phase. Thank you, Tim Townsend Bozeman Resident
