The way The City of Bozeman treated Gabrielle Murphy, a city firefighter, after her pregnancy loss has been unacceptable and shameful to say the least. In 2017, my son was stillborn at 30 weeks. Never did I think I was "fortunate" to have carriedhim for 30 weeks but appearantly I was just that. I was able to take time off to heal and to grieve before returning to work. I could not imagine the emotional toll it would have taken onme to be told my life changing grief was comparable to "loosing a pet". The damage it would cause to be told my child and my pregnancy wasn't valid. That is exactly what was said toGabby. What I find so disgusting about how the City of Bozeman handled this trauma wasn't the denial of bereavement leave but the total disregard of acknowledging this pregnancy, thischild, as even being legitimate. Do better Bozeman. Its time to recognize and change your outdated, misogynist policies. Jessica Fobert
