Clearing, grubbing, and removal of existing vegetation and minimal demolition of existing curb & gutter, asphalt and
gravel surfacing. General fill and dirtwork required to bring site to grade for proposed building and site construction.
Building construction and utility installation. Asphalt and concrete surfacing and landscaping installation.
The project is being completed to construct a new hotel building with concrete retaining wall, asphalt parking lot,
retention storage/treatment pond, and required landscaping. Water main installation, sewer service piping and
grease interceptor, storm drainage piping and structures.
Support activities will include excavation and hauling of debris and spoils offsite and importing of materials as needed.
Equipment staging will be on the project site identified on the project site map.
No borrow, concrete and asphalt batch plants will be onsite.
Construction traffic will be limited as depicted on the site map. The site's existing vegetation will be maintained as long as
practical to limit construction traffic's access to active earthwork activities.
Material storage will take place onsite as needed and will be properly protected.
No material crushing and processing will take place onsite.

Per the geotechnical analysis completed onsite, native materials to be encountered onsite generally
consist of lean clays overlaying sands and gravels. Onsite clay is considered erodible and BMPs shall
be utilized to limit the erosion potential.
Import materials proposed for use onsite also generally consist of structural fill materials, gravel base
course materials, concrete materials for surfacing and foundations, and asphaltic pavement.
6. For a storm water discharge associated with construction activity with construction-related disturbance of five
acres or more of total land area (based on the acreage provided in item E.3 above):

A new retention pond shall be utilized for stormwater treatment immediately following installation.
Contractor shall be responsible for maintenance of pond during construction to minimize erosion
potential including monthly documentation of sediment depths and cleaning as necessary.
Care shall be taken during herbicide, pesticide, and fertilizer placement to ensure over-spreading and
waterway contamination potential are minimized.
Local Erosion and Sediment Controls
Describe applicable local erosion and sediment control requirements.
Dewatering Activities (Part 3.6)
Describe dewatering activities associated with the construction project. Identify the BMPs to be used to control
dewatering activities and prevent discharges to state waters. If a separate authorization is obtained under the
Construction Dewatering General Permit, include the dewatering plan with the SWPPP.
Local erosion and sediment controls currently dictated by City's MS4 Permit, building permit, and
erosion control permit. COGF Erosion Control Requirements during Active Construction can be found
in the Official Code of the City of Bozeman
Dewatering activities may be necessary for the site based on potential groundwater elevations.
Contractor shall be responsible for obtaining necessary permitting and submitting additional BMP
information.
It is anticipated that the proposed onsite retention pond may be construction prior to initiating
dewatering activities, at which point the BMP could be utilized for infiltration and treatment of
dewatering discharges where no discharge from the site would be necessary.

Major Construction Activity Schedule
List the major construction activities identified in the table above and provide an estimated timeframe for each
major construction activity. For each major construction activity, identify all construction activities that will occur
during the proposed major construction activity.
Section – Final Stabilization (Part 3.8)
Identify the BMPs that will be used to achieve final stabilization. Information to be included is seed mix selection
and application methods, soil preparation and amendments, soil stabilization practices, and any temporary BMPs.
Section – Post-Construction Storm Water Management (Part 3.9)
Identify BMPs that will be used to control storm water discharges that will occur after the major construction
activities are complete. Include a description of applicable local requirements.
Earthwork - Will commence immediately following construction startup and last multiple months.
Concrete Foundation & Slab - Likely start 4 weeks after construction startup and last 2 months.
Building Framing - Directly following concrete foundation & slab work, likely lasting 6-8 months. Work
includes rough framing, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, sheet rock, and other typical building construction
activities.
Painting - Painting and finish work follows the completion of building framing. Work will likely take 1
month. Includes painting, furnishing rooms as necessary, final inspections, and other associated finish
work.
Sitework - Sitework will begin following NTP and will likely take place throughout construction of the
buildings. Includes utility installation (Water, WW, Storm), concrete sidewalks, drainage features, AC
parking lot, landscaping & irrigation system.
Project will include full landscaping and seeding of disturbed areas within the project area including
mulch, sod, and other landscaping features as detailed within the landscaping plan. Dry-land seeding
will be utilized for disturbed areas not included within landscaping plan.
A new retention pond is planned to capture and infiltrate collected stormwater following construction. All
proposed post-construction management activities were/will be reviewed and approved by the City of
Bozeman Engineering and Environmental Departments.
Section – Site Map (Part 3.10)
Develop and attach the required SWPPP site maps and plans with the SWPPP. The site maps or plans must
clearly indicate all the required information in Part 3. of the General Permit. This means SWPPP site maps
must be of sufficient size, scale, and legibility.
Section – Inspection and BMP Maintenance Procedures (Part 3.11)
Select the inspection schedule for the construction project:
Once every 7 calendar days
Once every 14 calendar days, and a post-storm event inspection within 24 hours of the end of a rainfall event of 0.25
inches or greater, and/or within 24 hours of runoff from snowmelt
Describe the inspection and maintenance procedures that will be used to maintain all erosion, sediment control,
and other BMPs in good and effective operating condition. Identify how changes to the SWPPP will occur per Part
3.12 of the General Permit. If post construction BMPs will be used during major construction activities, include a
maintenance plan that will transition the BMP from active construction to post construction.
Section – Water Quality Controls for Discharges to Impaired Water bodies (Part )
National Weather Service
All BMPs are to be continuously monitored by site personnel to ensure they are effective. Inspections will be completed bi-weekly (every 14 calendar days) or after a rainfall event
exceeding 0.25". If additional BMPs are required we will make the necessary updates and adjustments to the SWPPP and site plan. The self inspection form (Attachment B) will beutilized during the inspections.
All site BMPs will be inspected to ensure they are installed and functioning correctly. Any necessary repairs or replacement will be made within 3 working days following noteddeficiency. The site will be walked to determine if other areas of contamination may be present and to determine if any construction runoff has occurred.
The following will be inspected: - site perimeter - areas disturbed or impacted by construction
- structural BMPs - make sure BMPs planned and installed are adequate. Make changes to SWPPP, site plan, and BMPs as necessary. - document any changes to BMPs - to include repairs, replacements, or additions
- document any changes to the SWPPP - Material and/or storage areas exposed to rainfall - discharge locations
- vehicle/equipment areas - entrance/exit locations - access/haul roads - other areas where potential pollutants may be generated
In the event the post-construction controls are installed and utilized for treatment during construction, they will be cleaned prior to final completion of the project to ensure the finalproduct operates efficiently. O&M information was submitted to the City of GF and is available on file.
The pollutants listed above have the potential to enter into the existing storm drainage system and ultimately into the existing wetlands. The following
list of BMPs will be used to address any concerns about discharges from the site:
Straw Wattles
Silt Fence
Inlet Protection
Vehicle Track Pad
Seeding
Equipment Management & Materials Handling
Dust Control
Good Housekeeping
Portable Toilets
Spill Prevention & Response
Refuse and Trash
