Study Commissioners,
I’m writing to express my strong support for the selection of Andrew Thomas as the
Communication Strategist for the Local Government Review process.
Andrew’s deep familiarity with Montana, both its people and its political landscape, gives hima distinct advantage in connecting with Bozeman residents in a meaningful and authentic way.
As a Montana-based professional, he brings firsthand understanding of the challenges ourcommunities face, and he has the background to navigate the nuances of local government
with credibility.
His legal expertise and experience in education makes him uniquely qualified to educate thepublic clearly and accurately on complex governmental structures. In contrast to the other
finalist, who indicated they would need time to learn about Bozeman’s system, Andrew isready to step into the role with relevant knowledge from the start.
What stands out most is Andrew’s thoughtful approach to community engagement. His
emphasis on listening to all residents, not just those affiliated with specific institutions orinterest groups, is exactly what Bozeman needs right now. His experience conducting
inclusive public processes and designing meaningful surveys gives me confidence that hewould collect input in a way that truly reflects the community’s values.
This role is too important to outsource to someone without ties to Montana. Andrew Thomas
is not only highly qualified, he is invested in this town and this process.
