On behalf of HRDC, Family Promise, and Haven, I am writing to express our gratitude for the City's support of our programming and participation in the Regional Strategy to address homelessness. This is a complex andfast-growing problem facing our community. The 2025 PIT Count, attached to this email, reports that more than 500 people in our community were without housing in January of this year (up from 409 last year). None of us want people living on the streets in our community. As we work to address our housing crisis and develop housing solutions, we hope the Commission will prioritize the deployment of CDBG and other fundingallocated in last year's budget process for transitional and supportive housing programs. This will signal a clear investment in solutions as we approach the sunset of the ordinance this fall. Our organizations have walked alongside the City in addressing this challenge, and will be the only place to turn for the families and individuals left living on our streets. In partnership, Christel Chvilicek Executive Director Family Promise Heather Grenier President/CEO HRDC Kathleen Gaines Madison Executive Director Haven Babies and toddlers are the population most at risk for becoming homeless.
