To City of Bozeman commissioners: Mayor Terry Cunningham, Deputy Mayor, Joe Morrison
and
Douglas Fischer, Emma Bode, Jennifer Magic.
My name is Beth MacFawn and I am a co-author of the Centennial Park Neighborhood
Conservation in Action, but I am writing for myself today. I live at 605 N. Tracy.
I appreciate your re-engagement to the community over the past year and a half, for the new
development code.
You have asked us questions, engaged with work sessions, listened to us during for Building
Our Future Together- that’s what it is all about.
I understand wanting to simplify the districts but zoning should reflect what is on the ground,
what the district is surrounding. In the areas of the NCOD, I ask that you honour the scale,
character, form and create gentle density.
If you change the districts to have high density within the NCOD, you will change the fabric of
these historic neighbourhoods. You all are creating how Bozeman and its historic core
neighbourhoods will look like in the future.
I ask you to leave your legacy to the charm of old Bozeman neighbourhoods. I ask you to
honour the character, form and scale of these older neighbourhoods, and revise the zoning to
reflect this quality, and what it’s surrounding.
Thank you for all your effort.
Sincerely,
Beth MacFawn
605 N. Tracy, Bozeman.
