Dear Commissioners and Community Development Staff;
I'm writing in opposition to any expansion of the B-3 zoning district in the UDC update. Zero. Absolutely none.
Particularly unacceptable is the mid-block boundary change proposed south of the City-owned Stiff building, which
will result in part of the Nationally Registered South Tracy/South Black Historic District being upzoned to B-3. This
is bad for the neighborhood, bad for Bozeman and only good for developers.
When B-3 was expanded on the North side of town it resulted in the demolition of a significant number of naturally
occurring affordable housing units and the destruction of a residential neighborhood. Please do not do this again.
Remember Nancy Reagan? “Just say no”. I’m saying just say no, thank you.
No expansion of the B-3, especially into an Historic District. Do not allow staff to incorporate this mid-block
boundary change in the updated draft UDC.
Please, you’ve made a lot of promises to take residents considerations into account. Please do this on August 19th,
please redirect Staff to bring necessary changes to the Growth Policy, and an amendment to the Future Land Use
Map (FLUM) in order to remove this area from the "Community Core" designation.
Leave our Historic Districts intact!
Thank you,
Patty McGown
