Good Afternoon,
I am writing to formally object to approving the pride flag and all variants as the official flagof Bozeman.
Making a pride flag an official city flag is politicizing something that truly does not need
politizing. It doesn't matter what side of the aisle you're on, for example making the city flag aMAGA flag would be equally inappropriate. The flag should represent the values of Bozeman,
not a group's opinion on what's inclusive.
By saying that this flag is inappropriate as a symbol of our city I and literally everyone else Italk to are not saying we are against the freedom to love who you want. Bozeman should be a
place where everyone feels safe and is treated with respect...that includes LGBTQ and a wholelot more people as well.
This proposition is narrow minded and focuses not on inclusion and equity across all people
but for one specific group.
The fact that this is even wasting the commissioners time when Bozeman has real issues and alevel of service to provide for the community is astounding. We have failing sewer
infrastructure across all of downtown, high impact fees, slow review times, failing roads andcrosswalks, outdated intersections and traffic issues, homeless issues and many more. Stick to
the things that matter and stop wasting our tax dollars and City staff's attention on somethingthat benefits a minority of our residents.
