While I know itʼs inevitable I disagree with the plan to extend N 27th street through the farm fields near Winco etc and develop that land. I also disagree with the approved plan to annex the parcel to the Northwest of town north of Baxter and west of Harper Puckett. This area is beautiful wildlife habitat and is it a huge loss to not make that area into a wildlife preserve or park. I think the city is overshooting its estimation of the future population growth of the town as evidenced by the high vacancy rate recently reported in the MT Free Press. In addition the idea of building more “luxury” townhomes and condos is impractical. The town does not need more of this type of housing (for example the Uplands on N 27th seems to be a fully for profit endeavor so an out of town developer can make money. I honestly canʼt believe that project was approved by the city). I think in 15 years when the town looks like the sprawl outside of Salt Lake City, we will look back on these plans and wish we had done dierently. Thanks for listening to my thoughts.
