Good morning, It is my understanding that the city commission will he voting this evening as to whether ornot the pride flag is to be adopted as an official city flag. As a resident with a Bozeman address, I would like to voice my concerns. As a Bozeman resident, there are few things that we have in common, the most basic andobvious is our location. That said, it makes sense for the American and State flags to be flown at any/all government buildings. Regarding the "Pride" flag; I hear the argument so often that it's being flown to show supportand to be inclusive of all genders, sexual preferences, etc. I find this not to be true. Rather, I find it to be a small percentage of our population pushing their preferences and beliefs on therest of the population. For example, can you imagine the outrage if a MAGA flag was to be flown outside a government building. Again an example of a percentage of the populationpushing beliefs and preferences upon others. We live in a free country, I 100% believe that the LGBTQ+ population is free to do as they choose, so long as they can do it on their own two feet, just like the rest of the population. Idraw the line when their beliefs (just as much as anyone else's) is pushed upon me, and especially my child. Their lifestyle, beliefs and preferences do not deserve to be made publicany more than anyone else's, which is why it's shameful and quite embarrassing to even consider making their flag an official city flag. Over the past several years, it's been very disappointing to see the direction that the city andcounty alike is headed, soft on crime, etc. Now is the city's chance to stand up and do what any locality should do, and represent 100% of their population fairly, and not be bullied intocatering to a small percentage while marginalizing the rest.
