Dear City Commissioners,
My name is Scott Phelan and I am a resident, attorney and homeowner in Bozeman. I'm
writing to ask you to vote to allow the Pride Flag to be proudly flown in Bozeman.
There have been many wonderful comments supporting why the Pride Flag should be flown inBozeman. I want to focus my comment on the opposition. Many, if not all, of the opposing
comments are simply factually incorrect.
The opposing comments attempt to create a narrative that the Pride Flag represents one groupand creates divisiveness. The Pride Flag is the opposite. It does not support one group, it
supports many many many groups. It is, at its very core, a symbol of inclusivity.
I urge you to not consider the opposing commenters mischaracterization of what the PrideFlag stands for. I urge you to vote to allow the Pride Flag to be proudly flown in Bozeman.
Show the world that Bozeman is a place that accepts everyone - which is exactly what thePride Flag stands for.
