Dear Members of the City of Bozeman Commission,
I am writing to you as a citizen of Bozeman who cares deeply about our community.
Government leaders are called to serve all people impartially. When a governing body raises
the banner of one group over the rest, it risks straying from that God-given responsibility offairness and unity. If the city begins to adopt identity-based flags, it may be compelled to do
so for many other groups to ensure equal representation, which could become divisive andimpractical.
Instead, I urge you to pursue actions that foster true unity and peace for everyone in our city—without partiality. James 3:17 reminds us that godly wisdom is “pure, peaceable, gentle, open
to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere." These are the qualities weshould seek in our city’s leadership and the symbols we embrace publicly.
Thank you for your time, and for serving our community with diligence and care.
